Slackware 13.37 – Round 1

Recently I switched from Arch Linux back to Slackware Linux. Slackware was a distro I tried years and years ago (sometime around Slackware 10) and at the time it was way out of my league and I wasn’t nearly patient enough for it. Times have changed.

I wiped my Arch install and started fresh. I did as minimal of an install as I could get away with and have been slowly adding packages and configuring my setup as I go along. Although I did learn a bit with Arch, I feel like I’ve learned a lot more with Slackware. I think a lot of it has to do with the lack of dependency resolution with the Slackware package manager.

Now if I can just get VLC to install I’ll be set…
